The LuLaRoe skirts…
Let’s talk about the clothes. You have probably heard about the leggings – honestly, who hasn’t? They are super soft and come in amazing prints and colors. Even if you’re not a leggings-in-public kind of person, they are perfect for lounging around the house or even to wear to bed.
But have you tried on any of the other styles of clothes? Shirts, dresses, skirts – even compression leggings perfect for runners and athletes. We’ll run through each of them over the next few weeks, but today we will start with my favorite – the skirts.
There are seven skirts that LuLaRoe carries, and I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite between the first three that I’m listing here. I wear them pretty much all spring and summer, and the prints are AMAZING.
Cassie is a stretchy pencil skirt that will hug your curves but still feels like you’re wearing yoga pants. Most pencil skirts have stiff waistlines that do not allow for a variety of body types to wear them. The Cassie is not that skirt. She has a wide waistband that can be folded if needed to adjust the length of the skirt. I typically wear mine at my waist and the skirt comes just below my kneecaps, which is a very professional look with maximum comfort. You can pair her with any of the LLR shirts for excellent color coordination, or you can grab a plain tank and a cardigan or blazer jacket for a polished career look. What is also very cool about Cassie is that you can pull her up to wear as a tube top, or even as a chunky scarf to compliment an outfit. Depending on the material, you can generally wear several sizes – I normally wear a 2XL, but can wear a XL in some super stretchy materials, and a 3XL in some of the heavier materials. It’s all about your comfort and the look you’re going for.
Azure is such a versatile skirt, with a classic A-Line cut, enough twirl to feel feminine, and a length to help you feel safe that your skirt won’t go flying up in a strong breeze. She also has that wide yoga waistband that can be folded to adjust the overall length of the skirt. Azure is perfect for summer time to switch between work and play, and can even be paired with leggings and boots for a cute and comfortable fall/winter look. You can also turn Azure into a tube top, which is very flattering for those of us carrying weight around the middle, during the summer months.
Maxi is the original LuLaRoe item that started it all. She is a floor length skirt with that same comfortable yoga waistband, and is the ideal skirt to wear in the summer with flip flops. During the fall and winter, I like to throw a pair of leggings on underneath to stay warm and wear with booties. Always versatile, you can also pull Maxi up to be a tube top dress and add a cute belt and shrug to bring color and definition to your outfit.
Now, full disclosure: I don’t own the following skirts. Well, actually, that’s not totally true. I have a Lola, and she and I are not BFFs yet. I have worn her a couple of times, and I just don’t FEEL good (like I do when I wear the top three skirts). That might be a bit of my own self-doubts creeping in, or it might be that she is not the best style of skirt for me to wear. That said, I encourage EVERYONE to try on all the styles that LuLaRoe carries, because every body is different, and you should know exactly how each item looks on YOUR body!
Madison is a pleated skirt that is essentially the bottom half of the Amelia dress. Hand set box pleats, hidden pockets, and a longer length for modesty, the Madison is SUPER cute and very flattering to all body types. I am 99.9% sure that the Madison will be the next skirt I try.
Lola is a gorgeous skirt with a wide, exposed, elastic waistband that adds accent to your outfits. She falls to your mid-calf, or can be pulled up to create a higher empire waist. What really sets Lola off is the outer lace or chiffon layer that hangs a few inches longer than the solid inner liner, adding a visual effect to your outfit that is fun and flattering. Lucy is a close sister to the Lola, with the same exposed elastic waistband in a floor length skirt.
Jill might be the most fun of the mid-calf skirts, with an accordion pleat that is flattering for multiple body types. She has the same exposed elastic waistband as Lola and Lucy, but the pleats add an extra layer of accent to your overall outfit, without adding layers or accessories. Talk about high fashion, folks! Skirts that have these features are selling for hundreds of dollars in top designer stores right now. No joke.
No matter what look you are going for, LuLaRoe has a skirt to meet your needs – in fact, most of the skirts are versatile enough to transition between work, home, a night out, or church. I can’t wait to help you find the skirt (or skirts!) that will fit your lifestyle and help you feel confident and comfortable all at once.
